NOTD- Streetwear Mini - Rosey Glow
Hello All,
I am back with another NOT D.. I had been eyeing on these cute little bottles for a long time, but never bought any because I am not a big fan of Street wear nail polishes.. I liked their old ones, but I was not totally impressed with their new range...
I had picked up a few nail paints from this range and I must tell you, they are good in terms of their color payoff, consistency and lasting power.. I think I may be getting a lot from this range in the future.. I had purchased close to 7 nail polishes this time, mainly because its dirt cheap.. One bottle comes for Rs. 45, which means its cheaper than Elle 18.
Today I would be reviewing a beautiful rosy shade from this range - Rosey Shine..
It's a beautiful Rosey pink shade that would all skin tones..
This is how it looks on my nails.
Another one on my nails..
Why do I like this Nail Polish:
Overall, I like the nail polish and the range.. Will be back with a new review soon..
Cheers,
Amrin

Why do I like this Nail Polish:
- It gives a creamy finish, I love creamy nail polishes
- The color payoff - One coat almost shows the actual color
- It stays for almost 3-4 days without chipping, I don't care much about this point because I change my nail polish often
- The nail has the "Just Right" consistency, it neither to runny nor too thick. I think its just for this shade, because I found the other shades to be very thin and runny and may need 3-4 coats to get the correct shade.
- It's super affordable - It's a steal at Rs. 45
- Might take a while to dry.
- I found my nails a little bit stained, that may be because I didn't do a manicure for a long time and neither did I apply a base coat - I think we can give it benefit of doubt!!!!
Overall, I like the nail polish and the range.. Will be back with a new review soon..

NAIL ART TIME
Hello All,
It’s nail art
time!!!!!
I was just a nail polish fan wherein I would paint my
nails with different colors from different
brands. To me all nail paints are nearly the same and I don’t really care if its MAC
or INGLOT or a local one from a grocery
store. Mainly because I don't keep nail polish on my nails for more than 2-3 days
I have sturdy unruly cuticles , I think I will have pay a
visit to a salon to get a professional manicure – I never get a manicure done
at a salon.. But I think I have gotten too lazy that I just remove the old nail
polish and carry on with the new color ( These days it’s the “ART”)
I had tried 3 nail arts in 7 days… I overdo things if I am
too excited about something.. Can there be a better example? LOL!!!
The next few posts on this blog would be about my new /
reinvented craze. a.k.a “Nail Art” ;)
This was one random flowery nail art that I had tried… I had bought blues, yellows, oranges
and greens but I cannot wear it for daily use… So thought of mixing and
matching these shades….
This was the first ever nail art that I tried.. Was a little
messy here and there but came out well… And yeah… Received so many compliments from friends and
colleagues
I had used Elle 18 nail pops in colors Turquoise Blue,
Orange and Yellow..
The next one was beetle inspired nail art… I had used Lakme’s
red shade – I don’t know the shade names or numbers because, I peel the top
sticker which has the product and info and paint the top portion of the lid so
that it’s easier to pick the nail colors without any confusion..
I had painted my entire nail with red, made black French tips
and white polka dots on the tips… Some pics for you
The last one was a simpler one.. I painted my nails black
and made kept dots in a flowery fashion..
I used the nail art pen for the dots instead of the dotting tool... Like I mentioned earlier, please ignore my unruly cuticles :)
I did the same pattern on my toes as well.. Didn't click pics of my big big toes :
Hope you like the posts here… Please use the comments

budding blogger…

Lakme Fast and Fabulous - Fizzy Pink
Hello Everyone..
I had been off blogging for quite some time.. Mainly because
I was lazy to get into the groove of writing and an added bonus of broken
computer.
Better late than never, in this post I would be reviewing about the Lakme's Fast and Fabulous range of nail polishes.
I had bought them in two shades, in the month of December -
Fizzy Pink and Pearly Pink.. Both are beautiful shades and would suite ladies
with all skin tones.
Fizzy Pink is on the darker shade side whereas Pearly pink is a beautiful baby pink.. Good to see Lakme coming up with new shades from their usual boring routine shades.
I had headed for normal accessories shopping to Naihaa ( Chennai'ites would know) and found these ones at the Lakme counter.. I wish Naihaa offers a variety of brands when it comes to cosmetics. The first thing that attracted me was the shape of the bottle, very different from legacy Lakme nail polishes.
Lakme Fizzy Pink
This is how the shade looks on me... Excuse me for the short nails.. I was very busy in December and I had to cut my nails short :(
Fizzy Pink on my nails
More closer view- Excuse me for picture clarity
The price per bottle is Rs.175 on par with their Nine to Five range ( which I never liked), but this is lot better than them for the following reasons:
- Fast drying formula- The product claims 40 sec drying , surprisingly it works.
- The BRUSH: They have a flat brush, something that I have been expecting from Lakme for quite a long time now
- The color intensity: One stroke gives the right color build-up, very nicely pigmented shade..
I am completely satisfied with the product and 100 % satisfied
with Lakme for the first time. I would rate it 4.75/5 ... This would say that this one impressed me a lot..
Adios,

How to do a Pedicure at home
I know we might have read many articles on "how to do a manicure/pedicure at home". This article is something of the same sort and this is my style of pedicure. I get a pedicure done at home, once in a week. I'm too lazy to go to a Salon for that. The end results are almost salon-like. So, Me Happy!!!!!!
I would stop my ramblings and let's get started, Fasten your Seat Belts :):D:P
1. Like most of us know, the first step in any manicure/pedicure make sure that you remove your old nail polish, cut and file nails. Never file your nails after soaking them in water or after a bath, because water moistens the nails and the chances of you breaking the nails is quite high!!
2. Next is to prepare a foot soak and relax your feet. Take some warm water in a tub and add your favorite foot soak to it. At the moment, I use a Scholls Refreshing foot soak. But I have used my shower gels as well. Soak your feet for atleast 20 minutes, so that the calluses and the hard skin gets softened up
3. Wipe your feet and use a scraper/pumice to remove calluses and dead skin from your feet.. Personal Experience: Soft heels take some time, atleast 2-4 pedicures and regular care. If you are using a metal scraper, don't scrape too much, it might result in scratches, that are painful. And yeah. That's me.
4. After this, I use a scrub to remove dead skin from my feet. My favorite is Dr. Scholl's rough skin remover. I always wer gloves while scrubbing, because it has pumice powder and it actually hurts my hands :(
5. Who would like yellow nails? To whiten them, I make a paste of baking powder and water, apply it on my nails, and it does work.. I apply it on my feet as well, and it does brighten the dark parts of my feet.
6. Next is to apply a foot cream, I massage it onto my feet and wrap my feet with a warm towel. I use Dr. Scholl's foot/nail cream and krack Soft heels gel at times as well.
Krack gel is good, but I prefer Scholl's foot/nail cream as it adds instant moisture
7. Apply some cuticle cream /vaseline and push the cuticles. I cut my cuticles at times, if they are too hard. I end up having unruly cuticles at times, thanks to Chennai's water.
8. Once we are done, I paint a base coat, the one I'm using right now is the one from Oriflame, Crystal base/top coat. Then followed by your favorite nail color and a top coat!!! And we are done...
9. It takes totally 45 minutes.. I know its long, but how much do you save?? You know it!!!!
Hope you like this post, Please do let me know your comments..
PS: I Love You.. Lol.. I was too lazy to click the pics of the products, I took the pics from www.cilory.com. I have added the link to my labels..
Cheers!!!

NOTD- DAME Nail Polish in Praising Purple!!
I had mentioned in my previous posts that I had stumbled upon a nail polish range from DAME manufactured by Johnson and Smiths, Bangalore and I actually liked the lacquers. They cost only Rs. 40, but don't have the irritating nail polish smell. And doesn't chip for 4-5 days.. A good quality nail polish, at such a cheap price, what else do I need.. Stopped collecting L'Oreal, Maybelline ( which were my past favorites) for a while and stared collecting these ones.
They have a very good range of colors, including some colors that I haven't ever seen. One among them would be the one that I would be reviewing. Its called PRAISING PURPLE!!! This is a purplish lavender shape which has a pearly finish..
This is the image with one coat of the color. A little sheer, but the second coat, gives the best color..
This color did make my hands look a little dark. But I am not among the ones who care/cry for it :P
I haven't applied any base/top coat, but it doesn't fail to shine!!!
This lasts for 3-5 days, but I keep changing my nail color every other day, so lasting power isn't really a concern for me. What matters is the quality of the nail paint.. I have no problems of discoloration, even with their black nail color..
I would rate this one 4/5.. -1 for the availability ofcourse.. I haven't seen it anywhere apart from that departmental store..
Please comment if you like the post and support by following..

Lip Balm DIY
This post is about the lip balm / lipgloss that I had made. There are a lot of lipgloss DIYs on youtube, that I had viewed a lot of times but never thought of making one.
Birth of my lip gloss: I had bought a lipstick from Oriflame DISCO FEVER that was on discount sale. And I had bought it. I was very happy to see the color, but when I had twisted the lipstick, it fell on my lap. I was so upset that I had wasted money on it. And so my CREATIVE COPY CAT brain gave birth to this lip balm.
I had a small tub of garnier night peeling cream. I used it to store my lipbalm.
I had mixed vaseline, a little sweet almond oil and my broken lipstick, mixed thoroughly and kept it in microwave for 30 seconds and what I got was something like this
It happened to be a beautiful berryish pinkish color with shimmers....
Feeling proud to be de discoverer of the color...
Do comment if you'd liked it::)
